FERNANDO PESSOA. Portuguese poet. He spent his childhood and youth
in the Republic of South Africa and began law studies at the
University of the Cape, and returned to Lisbon in 1905. He started
his literary in English, although from 1908 grew her interest in
the Portuguese language. His work is one of the most original of
Portuguese literature and was, along with Sa Carneiro, one of the
introducers in their country of the avant-garde movements.
CRUZ E SOUSA. 1861: Birth of John of the cross in our Lady of the
exile (now Florianópolis, capital of Santa Catarina), on 24
November. Son of William cross, master Mason, and Eva Carolina da
Conceição, washerwoman, both blacks and slaves, freed by his
master, Colonel William Xavier de Sousa. Coronel, Juan received the

poemas en honor de su patrona, volviendo, ascendido a Mariscal, la
guerra del Paraguay. - 1871: La inscripción en el Ateneo Provincial
